Steveston is a good place to go. You could go there running, ride bicycle or walk dog. When you feel tired, there were many cafe shops, seafood restaurants waiting for you. Also you can visitor there’s museum.

Steveston locked in south Richmond around by Fraser River, looks like a island, so here have a nick name—island city.

Most of people who live here are Chinese, Japanese and Indian. Here is mixed culture.

Steveston is named for Manoah steves, who first arrived there and star a dairy farm. Actually his son developed the town side. 1889 here was named steveston. Here’s mian industry is fishery. So here have boatbuilding and canning factory. Most people live here were Chinese, Japanese, first nation people and Euro- Canadian. The famous cannery opened in 1871 by Japanese. In 1990s it closed because the WW2. 1994 the cannery as a national historic site opened again. Now become a public museum.

Before I did the touch the elephant project, I went to there just for the delicious seafood. I feel it near the sea and have seafood market so there’s seafood must be the best choice.

Now Terry asked as to listening smell and watch the place careful. I found some interesting things I never pay attrition before. Like the color. Blue and white is the main color for Steventon. You can see blue every where the sea the sky, ships, cars and houses. People love blue because they live in this area and be influence by there’s environment. Even though you are in the town, you will feel the air still fresh because the color. People build here beautiful not just use color, they also love gardening. There’s people love gardening. Even though they live in apartment, they do not have yard, they plan flowers on the balcony.

Here’s people.  I with my girl friend had a seafood lunch last Saturday. It was a sunny day, so we choose an outside sit, but have a big umbrella, because we do not like too much sunlight. I found most of the Asian people love to sit under the umbrella, but the Canadians love to wear sunglasses sit under the sunshine. Like people walk on the street, Asian girls love to use sun-umbrellas or straw hats.I think because the difference value of beauty. We do not like sunlight, because it will make our skin more dark, but white people love to become brown by the sunshine. 

Busy Saturday

These picture were taken yesterday, Saturday is a busy day for steveston. I with my girl friend had a seafood lunch there. It was a sunny day, so we choose a outside sit, but have a big umbrella, because we do not like too much sunlight. That’s funny, we are yellow color people, we do not like sunlight, it will make our skin more dark, but white people love to become brown by the sunshine.

people enjoy there's weather verymuch, but i counld not bear that, it is to shine and dry. In my hometown, the hot weather always come with rain. so i went home early. befeor i went home intherview several gorup of peope.

they are a Japanese family. they told me they are live very nearly, and the alway come to the wharf buy seafood or enjoy the sunshine. the old lady told me her daughter we going to run along the wooden road with their dog. i feel they do not like me interview them, the did not give any other informantion with out my question. unlike others, love to talk.  For example some people do not like follow my question list, the just talk with me talk about the seafood, the weather the restaurant.

most of people are easy to talk, and the like to say hi to stragers.

this si a locala family live near the steveston, they told me where they live but i did not remember the name, i just remember it is near the steveston. they came to ther for ride bicycle. they came to there very frequency，but for bicycle just once a week, most of time they running  there and walking dog. they said they love there's weather and love to ride bicycle on the wooden road, they could enjoy the sun, small the sea and listen to the sea bird.

after inteview i think about my hometown, most peope if they have free time they tend to stay at home for relax, not mean they are lazy, they just do not like the sunshine and do not like sweat. that is why here's locala boy all look very strong, they love do exciese and Chinese boy looks too thin or too fat.

art is every where

If someone ask me what's  color for Steveston. I will answer him--blue. When I work on the street in Steveston , I can see the blue everywhere, the sky, the ships and the houses.

Also i feel art is every where in Steveston. All of There’ house looks very colorful. They try to make every thing look like a artwork. like that blue car, stop in fornt of a red wall, looks so beautiful.

Could you imagine what does this garden for? It is a garden near the main road of the Seveston, and it is a garden for hospital. before i saw the sign i think it is a backyard garden for a store. I never think it is a hopital.

In steveston, there are many this kid of houses, the first floor use for store, and they live in the second floor.

there's people love gardening. even though they live in apartment , they do noy have a yard, they plant many flowers on the balcony. I found there's garden store are very busy.

fisherman's wharf

 

                    

Steveston is famous as the fisherman's wharf. fisherman's wharf located in the south of Richmond; around by the Fraser River looks like a island, so there have a nick name­­–Island City. Most there’s local people are Chinese and Japanese, also have small group of Indian. So here are mixed Culture.

Steveston located near the estuary of the Fraser River. There rich in seafood resourses, so that make the fisherman's wharf be well know. Everyday have many ships stop there sale their seafood. Lots of fish looked very strange I have never seen. Sometimes they cut the fish follow your asking just sale a part of the fish. In weekend’s morning there used to very busy, because many people think there’s fish were different with others.

Steventon not only have special fish market, but also have very beautiful view. Many people bring their family walk there and enjoy there’s sea wind and sunshine.

Tteventon have many small stores, sale t-shirt, souvenir, and art home goods. Also have many famous restaurants. There is a famous Fish& Chips store there. Very popular. Many people love to buy these, sit near the seaside and enjoy the sunshine. Oh I forget an important one.

There also have famous ice cream store, very delicious. If you been there, do not forget to try these 2 things.

Furthermore, there have a famous garden house. They not just sale flowers, but also sale many creative ornaments. But most of customers there are old ladies.
